 Janet L. Tallett is a Certified Specialist in
Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. She obtained her
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of
California at Santa Barbara and her law degree from the Santa
Barbara College of law.
Prior to obtaining her law degree, Ms. Tallett worked as a
paralegal for 20 years in Santa Barbara, California. As a
paralegal her work included the areas of estate planning, trust
administration, Medi-Cal planning, probate, conservatorships,
litigation, business law and land use.
Since joining Gilfix & La Poll LLP in 2005, Ms. Tallett has
focused her practice in the areas of estate planning, tax
planning, probate, conservatorships, trust administration and
Medi-Cal eligibility. She enjoys working with her clients and
family members guiding them through the complexities of estate
planning. Ms. Tallett also presents bi-annual seminars to
clients who are members of the firm's Peace of Mind program.
Ms. Tallett served for two terms as President of the Santa
Barbara Paralegal Association and co-taught a paralegal studies
course focusing on areas of law including civil procedure,
ethics, legal research and writing. While obtaining her law
degree Ms. Tallett also served as a Small Claims Court Advisor
for the County of Santa Barbara.
