
Christine E. Akutagawa obtained her juris
doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law
after graduating from the University of California at Davis with
honors.
Prior to law school, Ms. Akutagawa tutored underprivileged
students in Sacramento, California and also interned for the
National Head Start Association in Alexandria, Virginia,
lobbying for children’s rights.
During law school, Ms. Akutagawa was involved in many
organizations, serving as the treasurer and a board member of
the Asian/Pacific-American Law Student Association, serving as a
school representative at the Bay Area APALSA Conference, as well
as staying active as a student member of the Women’s Law
Association, Law in Motion Service Program, and American Bar
Association.
Ms. Akutagawa also interned at the San Francisco Human Rights
Commission in San Francisco, California, focusing on fair
housing laws and discrimination. In addition, she has also
clerked for the Judicial Council of California, Administrative
Office of the Courts, Center for Families, Children & the Courts
in San Francisco, California.
As an attorney, Ms. Akutagawa has experience in estate planning,
probate, and trust administration. She thoroughly enjoys the
personal interactions with clients especially in the realm of
estate and tax planning. At Gilfix & La Poll Associates, Ms.
Akutagawa assists clients with their estate plans, Medi-Cal
eligibility, and probate matters.
